Talk with Egyptian writer Hicham El Kheshen around his novel “Adieu Berlin,” published by Maktabet el Dar el Arabia lel Ketab in 2018 and by Al Dar Al Masriah Al Lubnania in 2021 .
A German family living in Berlin during the rise of Nazism and whose daughters, in time, become heirs to a priceless Stradivarius. Carried away by the turmoil of the great moments of the past century, from the fall of the Nazi regime to the end of the war and the Berlin Wall that tears entire families apart, they are separated for many years. Hustled by fate’s invisible hands, between escapes and reunions and after a three-decade-long journey, life reunites them once again around the Stradivarius… A novel where the author, through his outlook on the events that shook the world at that time, transports the reader behind his heroins and the strange unfolding of their destinies.
The talk will be moderated by the writer Eman El Shimy and critical reading by the writer Mohamed El Abady.
