Christ Stopped at Eboli (Francesco Rosi, 1979, 2h 30m)

Inspired by Carlo Levi’s autobiographical novel, this film recounts two years in the life of an anti-fascist doctor and writer placed under house arrest in 1935 in Aliano, in the province of Basilicata.
