The Heliopolis Media Library

The French Institute in Egypt’s media library in Heliopolis has over 16,000 documents: novels, essays, short stories, tales and FLE workbooks – 1000 DVDs and audio material for both children and adults.

Several areas are open to visitors: the student’s library, a reading space and a space for the youth, not to mention its digital space (www.culturetheque.com). Accessing and consulting documents is open and free in all spaces.
Borrowing documents requires registration.

It is a major hub of culture and influence with its cultural activities organized by the Heliopolis Francophiles Club, created in 2013 by students of the Institute.

To go further

Le club des Francophiles d’Héliopolis (Heliopolis Francophiles Club)

Created in 2013 by IFE’s students, the club regularly organizes cultural activities (movie screenings, debates, conferences, karaoke contests, outings…) intended primarily for language courses students as well as members of the media library.

Les petits vendredis (Little Fridays)

Tales, games, movies and a puppet show await young audiences every Friday from 2 PM to 3:30 PM. This activity is reserved for members of the media library.

Le Rallye lecture (Reading Rally)

Le Rallye lecture (Reading Rally) is a great way to develop a taste for reading and promote leisure reading for children who are subscribed to the media library.
All activities are announced on the Facebook page of the IFE in Heliopolis and New Cairo!
