Foundational French courses

The French Institute in Egypt offers a 20-hour module for absolute beginners to teach them the basics of the French language.

General French courses

Courses for adults from level A1 through B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
Each level amounts to 40 teaching hours in total.

French language development courses

C1.1, C1.2, C1.3 and C1.4.
If you have acquired a B2 level. This course enables you to continue developing your French skills by studying a wide range of authentic documents and material.

Preparations courses for official French certificates DELF/DALF or TCF/TEF

To pass the DELF exams, the IFE organizes preparation courses on examination techniques.

Tailored semi-private courses

This 2022 novelty allows you to learn French together with your friends (from 3 to 5 people) according to your availability.
With this small setup, the instructor will follow your progress individually to help you reach your fluency goals faster.

Workshops for adults

The IFE’s qualified teaching staff offers you 20-hour workshops to help you develop your linguistic skills in an effective, innovative way.

Plaisir d’écrire et de parler (Pleasures of writing and speaking)

Our “Plaisir d’écrire et de parler” courses are a real complement to French lessons. These workshops allow you to enhance your skills in both writing and speaking.

Professional trainings

Diplôme professionnel de Traduction Français/Arabe (TRAFA – Professional Diploma in French-Arabic Translation)

The TRAFA is a degree-granting training on various translation techniques through media, commercial, legal and medical texts.

In cooperation with Lumière Lyon 2 University, the French Institute at its Heliopolis branch offers you training for the Professional Diploma in French/Arabic Translation (TRAFA) – a diploma course over 3 levels of 154 hours each.

Taught back and forth in both languages (French-Arabic), this training allows students to truly master translation techniques and acquire a rich terminology through a wide range of texts: newspaper editorials, treaties, international organizations documents, as well as economic, legal and scientific texts.

Académie du Français Langue Etrangère (AFLE – French as a Foreign Language Academy)

The FFL Academy is a yearly training aimed at professors who wish to teach French as a foreign language. It seeks to provide core competencies for teaching FFL.

During this training, participants follow different modules that enable them to acquire specific didactic competencies and to improve their linguistic level and knowledge of French culture.

The FFL Academy is also an opportunity for these participants to follow a practical training by experienced teachers.

An educational team, comprising teaching professionals and experts, has contributed to designing relevant content for every module and takes charge of supervising all participants throughout their learning.
