In the 1990s, a little boy lives in Burundi with his father, a French entrepreneur, his Rwandan mother and his little sister. He spends his time making four hundred blows with his classmates until the civil war breaks out ending the innocence of his childhood.

Petit Pays is adapted from the eponymous novel written by Gael Faye, which won a highly acclaimed Prix Goncourt des lycéens.
