Presenting.. CLEO FROM 5 TO 7 by Agnes Varda

We are thrilled to share the third film in our WHAT IS CINEMA? series, curated by Kino Cairo and hosted by Cinema Mounira at the French Institute in Egypt.

Chronicling two hours in the life of the beautiful Florence, known by her stage-name “Cleo”, Varda’s second film is a masterpiece of the iconic French New Wave.

Through a playful melange of documentary and drama, we follow Cleo – essentially in real time – through the lively streets of Paris, as she deals with the doom of a potentially fatal illness.
