The French Embassy in Egypt announces the opening of the 14^th call for applications for the Tahtawi scholarship for the academic year 2026-2027 until February the 15th, 2026 (at 11:30 pm Cairo Time).

Over the past thirteen years, the Tahtawi Scholarship has enabled several hundred Egyptian students to obtain the master’s degree they dream of, gain valuable personal and academic experiences, experience life in France, and secure prestigious jobs in France, Egypt, or anywhere else in the world.

More than 200 students from all Egyptian and international universities in Egypt, especially from French programs and the French University in Egypt (UFE), apply every year.

The Tahtawi scholarship entitles the recipient to an indicative monthly allowance of €860 for a period of ten months. This amount corresponds to the allocation for the 2025–2026 academic year and remains subject to revision in accordance with changes in French regulations. The opening of the program is conditional upon the availability of the necessary budget.
