Peace Streets are a four-day cultural program that addresses the place of religious heritage as a means of promoting understanding of other traditions.
But how to face the challenges that threaten these heritages? What ways to encourage their promotion? What role, more broadly, for culture and representation in the expression of religion?
It is within this framework of promoting dialogue and the discovery of cultural heritage that the French Institute in Egypt will welcome religious representatives, researchers, artists and thinkers from different backgrounds.
From May 27 to 30, 2023, these meetings will be held at the French Institute of Egypt in Cairo, but also in different neighborhoods and remarkable sites in Cairo. From the Imam Shafi’i Mosque to the Heliopolis Synagogue, these exceptional places will open their doors. I would like to thank the Fondation de l’Islam de France for inaugurating this cycle and look forward to seeing you for all these activities, concerts, round tables, screenings and raising awareness among young audiences.
