The Institut Français d’Égypte is pleased to invite you to the fifth performance of the programme Les Premières: « Pull me not! متشديش انتي »

This aerial dance duet is inspired by the unique space where the artists train in Cairo—a historic boys’ school built during the Khedival era, featuring vast sports facilities and a sturdy gymnastics hall. As the only aerialists to practice in this space, they have carved out a place for creation amid precarity. Their performance explores persistence, playfulness, and the unpredictability of the creative process—finding the right moment, the right fabric, or simply a ladder. Between the vibrant streets of Wekala’s fabric markets and this century-old gym, they transform limitations into endless possibilities.

Les Premières is a program designed to support seven new artistic creations by providing rehearsal spaces, production grants, and integration into the French Institute of Egypt’s monthly programming.
