Zaineb is 9 years old and lives with her mother and her younger brother in Tunis. Her father died in a car accident. Her mother wants to start a new life by marrying a man who lives in Canada. They try to convince Zaineb that in Canada, she’ll be able to see the snow! But she certainly isn’t convinced! She doesn’t trust her father-in-law and she definitely doesn’t trust Canada. Zaineb doesn’t even like snow! Covering 6 years of little Zaineb and her family’s lives that are constantly evolving, “Zaineb n’aime pas la neige” is the story of an initiation to life, to the adult world, narrated through the eyes of a child who is not only growing physically but also emotionally.
