Eden, by Mia Hansen Loba (2014, French with English subtitles, 2h11mns)
At the beginning of the 90s, French electronic music was en vogue. Paul, a DJ, takes his first steps in a Parisian nightclub and forms the duo “Cheers” with his best friend.
They find their audience and play at the biggest clubs of the Capital. It’s the start of a breakthrough that is euphoric, breathtaking, dangerous, and temporary.
It is also the sentimental path of a young man who racks up one love story after the other but can’t hold himself up. Eden tries to revive the euphoria of the 90s and the story of the French Touch: the generation of French artists which continues to shine all over the world.
