During this session of the Taste of Books, the IFE welcomes novelist Rehab Omar on the occasion of the publication of her work Le chant d’Isis (Tarnimat Isis), a fictionalised biography of Egyptologist Dorothy Louise Eady, alia Om Séthi (1904 – 1981), who was convinced that she was the reincarnation of Bentreshyt, a priestess contemporary with Pharaoh Séthi I.

Far from being anecdotal, this detail is an opportunity for the novelist to share with us her investigation into the reasons for this unusual belief and, more generally, into the questions and projections of Man about his destiny on earth and in the afterlife, in different cultures and eras.
