As part of the weekly event at Cinema de Mounira, the French Institute of Egypt reaffirms its support for young filmmakers by providing them with a platform to showcase their creations on December 18, 2023.

The short film evening is an opportunity for young directors to present their work to the Institute’s regular audience in a session open to all. The opportunity is open to Egyptian artists or artists of various nationalities based in Egypt who, through cinema, offer a unique perspective on social/environmental issues. Artists are invited to submit short films that depict their identity, era, vision, and territory in diverse cinematic styles, such as documentary, fiction, or archive cinema. Experimental cinematic practices are also welcome. A jury will be responsible for selecting short films for screening based on the relevance of their artistic approach.
