The\u00a0D<\/span>owntown Contemporary Art Festival, also known as\u00a0D<\/span>–CAF<\/span>, is an annual contemporary art festival that sheds light on Cairo’s contemporary arts scene. Starting in the month of October each year, the festival takes place to celebrate a variety of artistic mediums, including theatre, contemporary\u00a0d<\/span>ance, music, visual arts and new media.\u00a0D<\/span>–CAF<\/span>\u00a0has established itself as one of Cairo’s most innovative\u00a0<\/span>contemporary art festivals by bringing artistic events by local and international artists and practitioners over the years.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One of the main aims of the festival is to highlightD<\/span>owntown Cairo as a vibrant cultural center. Since 2012,D<\/span>–CAF<\/span>has been using historical buildings, alleyways, storefronts, and rooftops as performance and exhibition spaces, offering visitors the chance to see the neighborhood\u2019s exceptional heritage in a whole new light.\u00a0<\/span>D<\/span>–CAF<\/span>‘s 11th edition, which will take place from the 12th of October to the 5th of November, will showcase a variety of cultures and artistic expressions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 11th edition of D-CAF, running from October 12th to November 5th, will promote a variety of cultures and artistic expressions.<\/p>\n

We will participate with them in 2 theatrical performances:<\/p>\n

– Al Sawan” performance at Rawabet Art Square on 3 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm<\/p>\n

– Screening of “Empty Cages” on November 3 at the French Institute of Egypt in Mounira and on November 4 at the French Cultural Center.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
