The French Embassy in Egypt offers multiple funding mechanisms for scientific stays<\/strong> for Ph.D students and young Egyptian researchers who wish to go to France. PHC IMHOTEP<\/h3>\n

The Hubert Curien Imhotep Partnership (PHC) is a Franco-Egyptian program in support of researchers\u2019 mobility. In Egypt, it is operated by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In France, it is implemented by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI).<\/p>\n

Every year, the French Embassy in Egypt and the ASRT select up to 15 new projects to be supported for a 2-year period.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Students seeking a doctoral contract must provide proof of enrollment with the aim of completing a Ph.D.<\/p>\n

Research-Based Industrial Convention Trainings (Ph.D)<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]In partnership with the Association nationale de la recherche et de la technologie<\/a> (ANRT – National Agency for Research and Technology), the CIFRE mechanism<\/a> (Conventions industrielles de formation par la recherche – Reasearch-Based Industrial Convention Trainings) enables doctoral students to be hired by a company or a public body to conduct their research, in connection with an academic team.<\/p>\n

The company or public body funds the Ph.D via a private employment contract.<\/strong> It pays a minimum net salary of 1,800 euros per month for three years. <\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner disable_element=”yes”][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]En partenariat avec l\u2019Association nationale de la recherche et de la technologie (ANRT)<\/a>, le dispositif CIFRE<\/strong> (Conventions industrielles de formation par la recherche) permet \u00e0 des doctorantes et doctorants d\u2019\u00eatre embauch\u00e9s par une entreprise ou une collectivit\u00e9 publique pour conduire leur recherche, en lien avec une \u00e9quipe universitaire.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]L\u2019entreprise ou la collectivit\u00e9 finance le doctorat via un contrat de travail de droit priv\u00e9.

Funding from research centers and public bodies (doctoral and post-doctoral)<\/h3>\n

In France, public research is split<\/strong> among higher education establishments and public bodies, such as the CNRS<\/strong> (Centre national de recherche scientifique – French National Center for Scientific Research) covering all areas of research, the IRD<\/strong> (Institut pour la recherche et le d\u00e9veloppement – Institute for Research and Development), the ADEME<\/strong> (Agence de l\u2019environnement et de la ma\u00eetrise de l\u2019\u00e9nergie – Environment and Energy Management Agency) or the IFREMER<\/strong> (Institut fran\u00e7ais de recherche pour l\u2019exploitation de la mer -French Research Institute for Sea Exploration).<\/p>\n
