SUMMARY:Performance by Salvatore Cataldo - "Dear Children"
DESCRIPTION:Dear Children / Chers Enfants is a solo dance performance born of the performer’s experience of the events unfolding before the eyes of a seemingly paralyzed world.  \nIn this humanity made up of so many helpless individuals\, what happens if\, as a simple dancer\, being so futile\, so small and insignificant\, in the face of a catastrophe of such magnitude\, I share my dreams? What happens if we travel to these tragedies through imagination and compassion?  \nHow many possible interpretations are there? What if we recount the impressions left by this human tragedy through scenes? Through the scenic expression of nightmares and thoughts\, is it possible to rediscover ourselves as human beings? Would we then be less dead?  \n  \nABOUT SALVATORE CATALDO \nSalvatore Cataldo has worked internationally as a dancer and actor since childhood. After working as a traditional dancer in Turkey as a teenager\, he studied Classical Ballet at the National Academy of Dance in Rome\, then graduated in Modern Dance at the Folkman University of the Arts in Germany and perfected his skills at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater school in New York. Later\, he began to study singing\, a path he pursues to this day. He has worked as a freelance dancer\, actor and singer in the USA\, Italy\, Spain\, the UK\, Egypt\, Turkey\, Saudi Arabia\, France and Germany. As a choreographer\, alongside several solo pieces\, he is directing his first group piece “Garage de l’Opéra” in Egypt” in 2019. Since 2018\, Salvatore has been working as a teacher of classical and modern dance techniques in Egypt and abroad.

DESCRIPTION:Dr Amao is an associate curator for photography at the Musée National d’Art Moderne/Centre Pompidou in Paris. \nShe has co-curated exhibitions such as Eli Lotar (Jeu de Paume\, 2017)\, Photography\, Weapon of Class (Centre Pompidou\, 2018) and Dora Maar (Centre Pompidou\, Tate\, Getty\, 2019) and co-edited the accompanying catalogues. DESCRIPTION:Writing an objective biographical work on his favorite director\, and one of the most famous of his generation\, is the perilous exercise undertaken by Alaa Khaled in his latest book about Daoud Abdel-Sayed. Focusing on scriptwriting on the one hand\, and gathering numerous testimonials and interviews on the other\, the author achieves a sociology of Abdel-Sayed’s films and depicts the major themes common to his works by linking them to the filmmaker’s personal life. One of the pioneers of Egyptian neo-realism\, Abdel-Sayed has made numerous films dealing with the social problems inherent to his country\, while tinting them with a very personal poetry. Debate in the presence of Alaa Khaled and Onsy Abou-Seif\, Daoud Abdel-Sayed’s film set designer.
