SUMMARY:Recital with Duo Delta - Etienne Champollion (Piano) and Mina Ghobrial (Flute)
DESCRIPTION:Descendant of the Egyptologist’s family\, the composer and pianist Étienne Champollion meets the Egyptian flutist Mina Ghobrial. They form the Duo Delta for a Franco-Egyptian recital in tribute to the decipherer of hieroglyphs. The duo will thus offer a savant and popular repertoire where Rameau\, Berlioz\, Debussy\, Poulenc and Messiaen meet their Egyptian contemporary counterparts such as Rageh Daoud\, Khaled Shokry\, Ahmad El Hennawi and Gamal Abdel-Rahim. This concert is also an opportunity to discover the music of ancient Egypt through several Coptic songs transcribed and adapted by Etienne Champollion. This recital is a vibrant tribute to the intellectual and fraternal ties that have united France and Egypt for over two centuries. “I am everything to Egypt\, she is everything to me\,” wrote Jean-Francois Champollion on September 22nd\, 1822. Nearly two hundred years later\, the Duo Delta delves back musically into this love between two countries\, in this historical\, brilliant\, and ultimately\, universal exchange. \nFree entry
