Sound Documentary Intensive Summer Programme

The French Institute of Egypt is launching a call for applications for the 6th edition of the Sound Documentary International Intensive Summer Program that will take place from July 13 to August 28, 2026 at ENS Louis‑Lumière.

Established in 2021, this intensive training program is designed for international audiovisual professionals who wish to develop their skills in radio documentary creation. Over seven weeks, participants will immerse themselves in the French radio ecosystem and acquire the core skills of radio documentary creation, including writing, interviewing, sound recording, audio editing, and project presentation.

Applicants must demonstrate prior experience as authors (blog, podcast, or any sound‑based creative project). Participants are selected by a jury of French professionals, in coordination with the cultural services of the French embassies. All selected candidates receive a scholarship provided by the French embassies.

  • Cover letter (1 page, in English) explaining the motivation for applying
  • One‑page synopsis of a current sound‑based project (if applicable)
  • Digital ID photo to be placed at the top of the first page
